CPON UNEARTHS LABOUR’S ‘FAGIN’ POSTERS

A series of controversial Labour posters was first brought to the attention of senior Conservatives by CPON members, it has been revealed.

The posters, one of which depicted Michael Howard as a Fagin-style character, were unearthed, when an email from Labour MP, Fraser Kemp, was forwarded to a CPON member last Tuesday (25th) – FIVE days before the story hit the national headlines.

The poster was subsequently been condemned by Jewish groups concerned over its potential anti-semitic theme.

Another poster in the series, showing both Mr. Howard and Shadow Chancellor, Oliver Letwin, as flying pigs has also been condemned.

Mr. Howard and Mr. Letwin are both Jewish.

A Conservative spokeswoman said: “This poster campaign – which was offensive to many people – was a big misjudgement by Labour’s campaign team.”

Labour has now withdrawn the posters.
